Ingredients
- 1 Packet grace earth chef flavoured veggie mince beef
- 2 Cups boiling water
- 1 Tablespoon Grace Vegetable Oil
- 4 Cloves garlic, grated
- 8 Ounces onion, julienne
- 2 Ounces escallion, cut on diagonal
- 2 Sprigs thyme, chopped
- 1 Teaspoon scotch bonnet pepper, finely chopped
- 1 Can grace green peas, drained
- 1 Can grace whole kernel corn, liquid reserved
- 1 Pound cabbage, finely shredded
- 4 Ounces carrots, fine julienne
- 1⁄4 Cup grace tomato ketchup
- 1 Teaspoon salt
- 1 Teaspoon grace caribbean traditions black pepper
Method
1. Place Grace Earth Chef Flavoured Veggie Mince Beef in a large bowl; pour on 500 ml (2 cups) boiling water and leave to re-hydrate for 5 minutes.
2. Sprinkle on the contents of the seasoning sachet, mix well and leave to marinate for 5 minutes.
3. Heat Grace Vegetable Oil in a large skillet; add grated garlic, julienne onion and escallion, chopped thyme, finely chopped pepper; saute for 2 minutes for full flavour development.
4. Mix in the drained Grace Green Peas, and Grace Whole Kernel Corn and heat thoroughly for 2 minutes.
5. Stir in shredded cabbage and julienne carrots and mix well. Stir fry vegetables for an additional 3 minutes.
6. Add seasoned re-hydrated Grace Earth Chef Veggie Mince Beef and stir well.
7. Cover pot with a tight fitting lid and allow to steam for 3 minutes.
8. Deglaze pot using liquid reserved from corn; gradually pour in Grace Tomato Ketchup and mix well.
9. Adjust flavour using salt and Grace Caribbean Traditions Black Pepper. Cover pot, reduce flame and allow to simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
10. Remove from flame and serve.
To serve
Serve with boiled Grace Rice.
