Get ready for a fiery weekend as the Pepsi Portland Jerk Festival hits eastern Jamaica Sunday, July 1, 2007.
This colourful festival, in its eighth year, has upgraded to the larger Folly Estate in Port Antonio in anticipation of a bigger crowd. The festivities kick-off at 10 a.m. and vendors will offer their best jerk dishes, including chicken, pork and seafood. There will also be traditional side dishes available such as rice and peasi, festival, breadfruiti and yami.
A host of top entertainers will keep the beat going. Headline acts include Byron Lee and the Dragonaires, Alaine, Wayne Marshall, Dj Nicholas, Prodigal, Cherene Anderson, One Third, Hero, Nikeisha Barnes, Shan O, Freedy McGregor, Josey Wales and George Nooks. Young ones can head to the Kids Village for rides, games, face painting and more fun.
See you there!
