Exercise Tips for Home or Office

  • Go for short walks before breakfast and after dinner.
  • Do some gardening – e.g. pruning, digging, raking leaves.
  • Walk or ride a bicycle to the supermarket or drugstore.
  • Walk the dog.
  • Stretch for items in high places and bend for lower items.
  • Keep exercise equipment and use it.
  • Stand while talking on the phone.
  • Walk down the hall to speak with someone instead of using the phone.
  • Take the stairs instead of the elevator.
  • Walk around while waiting in the airport.
  • Take part in recreational activities at work.
  • Become a member of a fitness centre near your office so you can work out before or after work or during your lunch break.
  • Walk around the office building during a break or lunch.
  • Get off the bus early and walk the rest of the way to work or home.
  • Plan family outings that include hiking, swimming, tennis, etc.
